The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeastern Pennsylvania committee members recently met to make final plans for the Annual Champion of Youth Reception. The honorees are being recognized because they exemplify the ideals of being a “Champion of Youth” – individuals/organizations who give selflessly of their time and resources to ensure every child in our community will realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. This year’s honorees are Mary Ann LaPorta, Executive Director, Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern PA and
29 Year Board Member & Past President, Boys & Girls Clubs of NEPA; In Memoriam, Matthew D. Mackie Jr., Community Advocate & Foundation Board Member, Boys & Girls Clubs of NEPA; Thomas E. Pugh, Retired, Chief Operating Officer of Allied Services
and Christine Cummings Pugh, President, Arlington Beach Corporation, New Jersey; and Thomas P. Tulaney, Executive Vice President, Peoples Security Bank & Trust Company. The event is slated for November 13, 2014 at Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
